Sreeleela has officially joined the cast of Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Dharman, marking her first collaboration with the Superstar. The announcement was made on November 4 by Kamal Haasan’s production banner, Raaj Kamal Films International, which welcomed the actor with a special video introducing her to the project.
The production house shared the caption, “She’s got the spark. She’s got the pataka,” confirming Sreeleela’s addition to the film. Her casting follows the recent announcement of Nayanthara’s involvement, further expanding the ensemble of the highly anticipated Tamil action thriller.
Sreeleela Joins Rajinikanth’s Ensemble
Directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, Dharman stars Rajinikanth in the lead role and also features Nayanthara, Simran, Raashii Khanna and Yogi Babu. Details about Sreeleela’s character have not yet been revealed, with the makers keeping her role under wraps.
The film marks the first time Rajinikanth is working with Marimuthu, who is known for Oh My Kadavule and Dragon. The project is produced by Kamal Haasan under Raaj Kamal Films International, alongside R Mahendran of Turmeric Media.
Rajinikanth to Play a Doctor With Grey Shades
One of the major talking points around Dharman has been Rajinikanth’s character. The first-look poster shows him dressed in medical scrubs, holding a bloodied surgical instrument, while the makers have described the character as a “Ketta Paiyan”—a phrase associated with a morally complex or darker persona.
The film’s technical team includes Anirudh Ravichander as composer, Niketh Bommi as cinematographer and stunt choreographers Anbariv. The project has reportedly completed multiple production schedules and is approaching the final phase of principal photography.
Another Big Tamil Film for Sreeleela
Sreeleela’s addition to Dharman comes as she continues to expand her presence in Tamil cinema. After making her Tamil debut with Parasakthi, she has also joined projects featuring Dhanush and Mammootty, as well as Ajith Kumar’s Daredevil.
With Rajinikanth, Nayanthara and Sreeleela now part of the cast, Dharman is shaping up as a major ensemble project. The makers have yet to announce an official release date, although reports suggest the film may target a 2027 theatrical release.
