Mckenna Grace is opening up about the kinds of roles she chooses to take on, revealing that nudity and heavily sexualized scenes are currently off the table as she continues building her Hollywood career. The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping star shared her perspective in a new interview with Cosmopolitan, explaining that she respects performers who take on such roles but personally feels uncomfortable with that level of exposure.
“At this point, I definitely don’t do nudity or very hypersexual things. I respect anybody who can, but it’s terrifying to me. I don’t know if that’ll ever change,” Grace said.
The actor also shared a dream that reflects a different side of her career ambitions. “My dream is to try and be a Disney princess someday,” she added, expressing interest in taking on a role that would allow her to explore a more family-friendly fantasy world.
Grace Says Her Choices Aren’t Limited to Wholesome Roles
While Grace prefers to avoid sexualized material, she made it clear that this does not mean she only accepts gentle or family-oriented characters. The actor pointed to her role in the Scream franchise as an example of the darker material she has taken on.
Her character’s violent fate in the horror series demonstrates the distinction she makes between intense storytelling and scenes involving nudity or sexualization.
Grace has built a varied career across drama, horror, comedy and major franchises. From Gifted and The Handmaid’s Tale to Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, she has repeatedly taken on roles that demand different emotional and physical performances.
Growing Into More Creative Control
Grace also reflected on how her relationship with acting has changed since she began working as a child. She explained that young performers are often expected to behave like adults off camera, while still being treated as children when they are performing.
Now, as an adult actor, she appreciates having more ownership over her characters and the opportunity to share ideas directly with producers.
“I’ve really enjoyed sitting down with producers and pitching all my ideas,” she said.
That growing creative independence appears to be shaping how Grace approaches her career, including the boundaries she sets around the projects she accepts.
What’s Next for Mckenna Grace?
Grace is currently preparing for another major franchise appearance as Maysilee Donner in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, scheduled to arrive in theatres on November 20.
Her comments offer a glimpse into the priorities guiding her next chapter in Hollywood. While she continues exploring challenging roles, her Disney princess ambition remains a dream she hopes to pursue someday.
